Wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I've been a life-long Ford guy. I grew up in a family that only owned Ford/Mercury products, with the exception of one Chevy van the folks bought and drove just long enough to convince themselves they wanted a van, then sold the Chevy and bought an E150. LOL I own a 1:1 Fairmont Futura, which was the inspiration for my user ID. It is much modified and hasn't been driven in several years. I should sell it and let somebody else have fun with it, but I haven't been able to bring myself to that yet. I'll be turning 58 in early August and have been back into modeling for the past several years. I never finish anything but I have a lot of fun developing new parts for my small business, Futurattraction Scale Products. I am big into drag racing so many of the parts I have developed are drag-race inspired. Glad to be here. I am a pretty busy guy so I can't guarantee the frequency of my visits but my hope is to pop in a few times a week to see what's going on. Scott

Thanks for that intro scott! I love my foxbodys especially 79-86' 4 eyes, I also have a love affair for the fairmount/ futuras? they are also I want to say fox platform? is your car a 2 door? my mustang is in need of re assembly, if the body has not rotted away yet...... I have a freshly rebuilt 85 ho roller motor from my 85 gt ready to be dropped in a project, I saw in in 5.0 mustangs and fast fords sometime back a 2 door fairlaine or fairmount that the guy had made a modified shift handle to clear the bench seat so he could have his fox powered by the t-5

Yup. The Fairmont is a Fox-body. All the neat stuff that fits 79-93 Mustang (and some even later Mustangs- with mods) fits a Fairmont. My 1:1 is a Futura sport coupe. It's got about 30K original miles on it. I never did drive it much after I modified it and I bought it with 21K miles on it in '83. The list of stuff I've done to it include: D&D Motorsport tubular K-member up front, QA1 coil-over front strut conversion, Flaming River rack & pinion, late-model Mustang spindles and 11" disk brakes (if I recall correctly), mildly narrowed 9-inch rear with drum brakes, 3.70 gears with Trac-Lok, 31 spline axles, welded-in subframe connectors, 4-point roll bar, 16 gallon fuel cell, braided -8 fuel line front to rear. Body has no rust on it. It has been stored inside it's entire life except the first six months or so that I actually drove it for my everyday transportation. The rear seat has been removed and I have poly seats mounted in it instead. It also has a full set of Autometer gauges, including 5" tach and speedometer built into the dash with a custom dash insert. I won't go into the engine/trans since it doesn't sound like its anything you'd be interested in. Oh, it's also got a lift-off flat 'glass hood and aluminum Griffin 2-core radiator with dual electric fans. It currently has 15x4 and 15x8 DragStar wheels on it.

I was actually running a C6 behind my 351C, though I thought seriously about an AOD-E.
