I've been working on this build for some time. As I've amassed a collection of pictures documenting it, it'll take a while to catch up with where I'm at now. This is where I'm starting. A resin Fairmont Futura body that I mastered a few years ago.  [/URL] This is the much-reworked Revell top sportsman pan I am using  [/URL] Here is an underside shot of the pan. I incorporated rear frame rails into the kick up and tub area to add some extra detail.  [/URL] Since I'm basing this off the Revell pan, I decided to do my replica of the separate frame rail under the middle of the car which more or less follows the shape of the Revell piece. very awsome! how many of those fairmonts did you work up? I'm currently working on creating a 85/86 gt mustang in 1/25 from various years of amt and mpc stangs wondering if i finally finish one of them someone would want to jump on casting that 85 and 86 gt 5.0

I've lost count of the actual number I've sold. I'd guess maybe 110-120 all told. I still get orders for them and I've got a small stock of them on hand. I'm working on a stock body Futura sport coupe. When finished, it will use the new Revell 90 Mustang LX as the donor. It will have a lengthened floor pan to match the longer Fairmont wheelbase, custom side panels for the interior, and probably an older style dash from the AMT/Ertl Mustang.

I like the idea of anything factory look..... let me know if you need one of those 79'86 dashboards, or the 87-93's i'm sure I can spare ya one if you need

I will definitely want one of those when you are finished! Count me in too. I always thought the Futura and the Merc Zephyr Z7 were great looking cars and still do. They just need to beefed up some with 5.0 Fox parts.     |
