This is a Revell Austin Gasser that I built. This model has been re-issued many times. I really wanted to find a yellow and black 1972 issue, but they are difficult to find. I decided to get a blue "Locomotion" version and make it look like it was the 1972 issue, built out of the box. I had trouble finding the 1972 issue decals so I printed some replacements myself, based on the box art. Other decals came from other kits. To replicate the 1972 issue model, I found the wheels that were used in my scrap box. These were common for 1970s issue Revell drag racing models, but the 90s and later issues do not include them. Even though the Revell 427 SOHC is a poor representation of the real engine, I decided to use it anyway, to keep with my theme of a 1972 issue model. I did apply some aftermarket injection stacks, an aftermarket distributor, and a resin master cylinder. I also re-worked the headers as I didn't like the way the Revell ones looked. Fuel and brake lines were added as well. My picture didn't turn out very well, but if you look closely you can see the shift linkage and at the side of the bell housing, part of the clutch linkage. The clutch linkage almost shows up in the image above too - just below the master cylinder. There is a reaction rod mounted between the frame rail and the bell housing, with a small rod going through the firewall to the clutch pedal. I also smoothed out the underside of the floor and fixed all of the sink marks and other BS on the frame.

Cool. I know that's not an easy kit to build and make look right. I like the header rework.
